Romantic Victorian Inspired Wedding by the Sea

As the fall season begins to creep, in the slow way it does, I cant help it but to think of warmer times! Let me take you back to Conor and Stacy’s gorgeous victorian inspired wedding at the Hotel Alcott.

Our day started off at a shore home in-town right around the corner from our iconic beach surf spot, “The Cove”. The guys have all been life guards and pals since their early teen years, so it was no surprise that they picked a location by the sea. Conor looked “fresh to death” in his Ivory dinner jacket that was contrasted by Shawl and Black Tuxedo pants and a black tie. His classic look was accented by a vintage Rolex. It came by Conor and the guys honestly to pop some champagne and toast to the couple before we left for the ladies!

puUpon my arrival to The Hotel Alcott I found Stacy and her girls getting their final touch-ups. Hair and make up were done by the always amazing “Make Up by Michaela” and hair legend Katie Bryan. Stacy’s stunning dress was a Veda cut by designer Maggie Sottero, and the dress fit her like a glove. Her sisters, who doubled as bridesmaids, helped Stacy step into her dress. They then honored their late father while helping Stacy put on a custom made necklace that read “Love Dad”.

Along with her wedding bands Stacy wore her grandmothers heirlooms and carried purple and white florals made by Karen Flower Floral Design.

Now, lets talk about this bridal party! Our Groomsmen rocked Midnight Pin Dot Shawl Tuxedos from Black Tux, accompanied with a side of great humor! The gentlemen were so much fun to work with, and never batted an eye at our crazy requests.

As for the ladies, they wore Azazie earth tone dresses. We had tons of fun popping bottles of champagne, and photographing in multiple locations. Their grace and support to Stacy was ever present! You ladies crushed the Bridesmaids game!

We first started portraits at the The Hotel Alcott, which is where the couple celebrated their wedding reception. The second story bridal suite also doubled as a fun photograph for the bridal party!

We made some pit stops throughout historic Cape May for some gorgeous portraits, shout out to Great American Trolley Company! Our first stop was Peter Shields Inn. Peter Shields Inn is our couples go-to restaurant and hotel, and they absolutely loved this location. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend a date night at their restaurant! The next location was Cape May’s very own The Virginia Hotel. Here our happy couple shared some of their fondest memories.

Also, how fun are these people?! Like come on!

The Ebbitt Room in the gorgeous Virginia Hotel is famous in our hometown for their ‘Farm to Table’ cuisine and craft cocktails ( Try the Pear martini… LIFE changing). Not only did Stacy and Conor share some intimate moments following their engagement here, but we were also able to share some just before their ceremony. If only they had time for a cocktail!

Also, special shout out to Hot Dog Tommy’s for the afternoon pick-me up gifted to the bride and groom… a Kit-Kat Bar!

Cape May’s, Our Lady Star of the Sea hosted Stacy and Conor’s wedding ceremony where they were surrounded by family and friends. The clean and simple decor of the church complemented their romantic details perfectly. Our favorite moment was when Stacy’s nephew came down the aisle for a last minute hug just before they gave their vows! How precious are they?

They sealed their love with 3 kisses, and we made our way out with the new Mr. and Mrs. McCaney!

We headed back to the Hotel Alcott after some epic portraits at Rotary Park. Then it was time for out favorite part of the day…sunset portraits! The newlyweds, Jackie and myself went down to head quarters beach, where Conor spent his youth life guarding. We then rocked out some gorgeous images taken on medium format film as well as digital! Their love really made this session stand out from the rest. We even got to play on the Steger Beach Box’s, a session first for us!

After the sunset, with sandy feet and full hearts, we started to party in celebration of the beautiful couple. Hotel Alcott was super accommodating, and we geeked out pretty hard when they gave us coursed vendor meals (It’s the small things – haha).

The couple were announced and there wasn’t a sitting guest in the house. They shared their first dances surrounded by their loved ones.

The Maid and Matron of honor, Christine and Amy (the bride’s sisters) delivered their speech first. The Best Men, Joe and Marty, then followed with their speeches. The girls praised their sister and their new “groom-zilla” brother in-law. Nevertheless, they warmly welcomed him to their family. In true fashion, for Best Men speeches, the guys teased Conor and told stories of their adventures growing up together. The room was full of laughter and we couldn’t help but to join in with them!

PARTY TIME! We cut the cake and then hit the dance floor!

Thank you to everyone who stopped to view and read up on Conor and Stacy’s true love story!

Congrats to the New Mr. and Mrs. McCaney!
